Fairview residents now have two new places to find their next good read, thanks to the hard work of Jackson Jones, who recently completed his Eagle Scout service project by building and installing two Little Free Libraries in the community.

The small, weatherproof book-sharing boxes are located at Bowie Park and at the Lions’ Club. Each library is stocked with books for both children and adults supplied by the Friends of the Fairview Library.

The Eagle Scout rank is the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America program, and earning it requires a scout to plan, organize, lead, and carry out a service project that benefits the community. Only a small percentage of scouts reach this milestone. Jackson’s project will serve Fairview residents for years to come.
