The Fairview Soccer Association has begun a new season with several additions to its programming, welcoming 285 young athletes to the field across its recreational, Lil’ Kickers and academy programs.

Opening day brought together players, coaches, referees and families, including both returning participants and those new to the association.

One of the new offerings this season is Lil’ Kickers, an introductory program designed for children ages 3 and 4. The program gives younger players an opportunity to become familiar with the sport while developing basic soccer skills.

The association is also introducing its Orange Badge Referee designation for officials who are new to refereeing or still gaining experience. Association leaders are asking players, coaches and spectators to be supportive as these referees learn and develop their skills on the field.

This season also marks the debut of the Bowie Timbers Academy, which includes U10 and U12 teams. The academy is designed to provide players with additional opportunities to develop their soccer abilities while competing as representatives of Fairview.

The new programs add to a recreational soccer tradition that has been serving the Fairview community for more than 20 years. With 285 players participating this season, the association continues to provide opportunities for local children to learn, compete and enjoy the sport.
