Bowie Nature Center is bringing back FeederWatch, a program where visitors watch the birds at the feeders and help scientists keep track of bird populations across North America.
In its November newsletter, the Fairview Parks System said beginners can come to an introduction at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 2, or Tuesday, November 3. You'll learn to identify common birds, write down what you see and add your sightings to the tally the park sends in as data. The park says no experience is needed and that birders of every level are welcome.
If you can't make the introduction, you can drop by and watch the birds at 10 a.m. on any of the other program dates: November 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 30, and December 1.
If you have questions, the Parks Program Coordinator can be reached at bbailey@fairview-tn.org or 615-799-5544.
