Painters of any skill level can try a mountain landscape under the aurora borealis this January at the Fairview Recreation Complex. The Bob Ross oil painting session runs from Saturday, January 2 to Saturday, January 23, according to Williamson County Parks and Recreation.

Certified Ross Instructor Quintin Burlingame will teach the Bob Ross wet-on-wet technique. The painting comes from Season 8, Episode 13 of The Joy of Painting. Students work on a 16-by-20-inch canvas that they first coat with black gesso.

The instructor supplies every material needed to finish the painting. The fee is $120.

The session is open to ages 11 and up, though the county recommends it for ages 13 and older. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Send questions to Mack Cronin at mack.cronin@williamsoncounty-tn.gov. The county said any credits, transfers or refunds must go through Mack at least 48 hours before the class.
