Fairview Recreation Complex is organizing a day trip for seniors to Amish country near Ethridge, Tennessee, on Monday, September 28.
Participants will meet in the lobby of the Fairview Rec Center at 8:45 a.m. and travel by wagon to visit several Amish houses, where they can shop for homemade and homegrown goods. Return times will vary depending on the group.
The recreation complex advises anyone planning to shop to bring cash, since most of the Amish houses on the route do not accept cards.
After shopping, the group will stop for a Dutch treat lunch at Shaffer Farms.
The trip is open to those 55 and older and costs $15. Registration is required, and anyone with questions can email krystal.turner@williamsoncounty-tn.gov.
