Mangrum Cemetery, the burial ground inside Bowie Nature Park, is due for a fall cleanup on November 14, and Friends of Bowie Park is looking for volunteers to help.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the Nature Center at 10 AM. The group's flyer says the work begins immediately after the Friends member meeting.
The flyer asks helpers to bring rakes, gloves and hand tools. Friends of Bowie Park said it will have extra rakes on hand for anyone who does not have one, and suggested wearing work clothes. Children are welcome.
The group describes the day as a way of "preserving and honoring" the cemetery.
Friends of Bowie Park is asking those who plan to come to let the group know by commenting on its post or sending it a message. Questions can go to Sherry by call or text at 615-266-4016.
