Young basketball players in Fairview get their chance to be seen by coaches on Monday, October 19. The Fairview Recreation Association is holding its Basketball Athlete Showcase that evening at Westwood Elementary School, 7200 Tiger Trail.
Each age group has its own half-hour slot. The two youngest divisions are split by last name:
6:00 PM: 6U co-ed, last names A to L 6:30 PM: 6U co-ed, last names M to Z 7:00 PM: 8U girls 7:30 PM: 8U boys, last names A to L 8:00 PM: 8U boys, last names M to Z 8:30 PM: 10U girls 9:00 PM: 10U boys 9:30 PM: 12U boys
After each showcase, coaches will draft teams and hold a short meeting. The association says a child who is not there for their showcase will still be placed on a team. Their name goes into a hat and is drawn at random.
Practices begin the week of November 2, and the association says a practice schedule is coming soon. Williamson County will set the game schedule.
