Fairview is set to get two freestanding emergency rooms, city officials said during this year's State of Fairview address, among a range of updates on growth, roads, schools and the city budget.

Mayor Lisa Anderson delivered the address alongside Interim City Manager Bob Rial and Williamson County Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Lee Webb.

Two new emergency rooms approved

Ascension Saint Thomas and TriStar Horizon Medical Center have both received state approval to build freestanding emergency departments in Fairview.

Ascension Saint Thomas plans to spend about $20.6 million on an 11,345-square-foot emergency department near Fairview Boulevard and Audubon Cove. The facility is expected to run around the clock with 10 treatment rooms, a trauma room, imaging equipment and a laboratory, and will be part of a larger medical campus that includes outpatient services from Dickson Medical Associates.

TriStar Horizon has also been approved for a separate freestanding emergency room in Fairview, though a construction timeline and opening date have not been released.

Both will be full emergency departments rather than urgent-care clinics, meaning they can treat serious or life-threatening conditions but will bill at emergency-room rates.

City Center, LazeStar and Highway 100

Anderson said infrastructure work is nearing completion at Fairview City Center, the development next to City Hall that is planned to include restaurants, retail and a central gathering space. She said she had no restaurant names to announce yet.

The mayor also gave an update on LazeStar, the laser manufacturing and welding company that announced in 2024 it would move from California to Fairview, investing $5.5 million and creating 25 jobs. She said higher interest rates have slowed progress on the company's permanent Fairview facility, though she remains in regular contact with its owners, and said LazeStar is expected to offer internships to students in Fairview High School's mechatronics program.
